Wanda Loraine Fleece
1933-2023
Wanda Loraine Fleece, age 89, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at her home with her family by her side and while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born November 24, 1933 in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Leslie Oliver and Adelaide Dailey Yost.
She was a Christian. Wanda was a high school graduate. She was a homemaker to her family and had worked in housekeeping with Coolfont Resort. Wanda enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, collecting dolls and cooking.
Wanda is survived by her children, Brenda Barney, Pamela Kave and her husband, Bernie, Diane Swink and her husband, Mike, Chris Harvey and her husband, Mike, Mary Sherrard and her husband, Paul, James Fleece, Rodney Fleece and his wife, Wendy, Daisha Riley and her husband, Jack, all of Berkeley Springs, and Patricia Winter and her husband, Ken of Hedgesville, W.Va., one sister, Patsy Pentoney of Berkeley Springs, two brothers, Dayton Yost and Donnie Yost, both of Berkeley Springs, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene “Gene” Fleece, one son, Robert “Bob” Fleece, Jr., three sisters, Caroline Keet, Jackie McBride, Joan Yost and one brother, Roger Yost.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, with Pastor Rodney Truax officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery. The family received friends from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
