1966-2023

Allyn Michelle Patterson, 57, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, with her husband by her side.

Born in March of 1966 in Rockville, Md., Allyn was the daughter of Thomas Sidney Fitzgerald, Sr. (deceased 2021), and Dolores Sicilia Fitzgerald (85).

After receiving her Master of Education from the University of Maryland at College Park, Allyn started a technology career at Fannie Mae which would last 27 years. She enjoyed the challenge and reward her career provided, and the lifelong friends she made. Allyn’s skills were highly sought after, and she was recruited out of retirement to work for Digital Strategy LLC.

Allyn married Willard, and the two of them would move to their current home in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia in 1993. Here, they started their life together, which would include the birth of their two sons, Jordan and Taylor. And over the years, the appearance of their loving pets, Sean, Mitch, Bailey, Aaron and Emma, and Marty.

Allyn enjoyed keeping herself busy in many ways. Over the years, she would sell Longaberger baskets, open a specialized LEGO store, and take up crocheting again. Her crocheting creations can be found in the homes of many loved ones. Allyn was also a consummate organizer in life, including digitizing not only her photos, but also her parents,’ and her in-laws,’ numbering in the tens of thousands of photos, continuing memories for generations to come.

Allyn and Willard also traveled the world. During these travels, they made memories together and met more friends. Most recently, in April 2023, Allyn and Willard, traveled the Adriatic and Mediterranean Sea. Allyn was an accomplished blogger, recording and communicating these trips with friends and family.

Allyn is survived by her husband of 30 years, Willard U. Patterson; her children, Jordan and Taylor; her mother, Dolores Sicilia Fitzgerald; her brother Thomas S. Fitzgerald, Jr. and his wife Abby. Also left behind are many nieces and nephews, and extended family members.

Allyn is preceded in death by two brothers, Steven M. Fitzgerald (1983) and Peter J. Fitzgerald (2016).

A Memorial Service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation is made in Allyn’s name to VALOR Clinic Foundation, or a charity of your choosing.
