Robert Wayne Cubbage
1963-2023
Robert (Bob) Wayne Cubbage, 59, of Hancock, Md., passed away June 3, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born December 7, 1963, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., he was the son of the late John W. and Patricia Ann Clay Cubbage.
He was a correctional officer for 24 years at MCI-H and retired earlier this year.
Bob loved his family and was thrilled to be a Pap Pap to Ellie Bug. He enjoyed lifting weights, hunting and fishing.
Bob loved his Michigan Wolverines and would tell everyone that he bleeds Maize and Blue. He would debate with anyone who did not think Tom Brady was the GOAT.
Bob was a loving husband and wonderful father.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joyce Cubbage; children, Jared and Patrice; granddaughter, Ellie; siblings, Delores Fox, of Chambersburg, Pa., Mary Clow, Krista Mullinix and Randy Cubbage, all of Hancock; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David W. Cubbage.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 8, 2023, 2-4 and 5-8 p.m., at Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main St., Hancock, Md. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 9, 2023, 11 a.m., at Mt. Olivet Presbyterian Church, 14253 Exline Road, Hancock, Md., with visitation one hour prior. Reverend Ron Martin-Minnich will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
