Jennifer Barnhart (right) received the Herbert A. Young Music Scholarship from Young’s son, David Young, during the Hancock Panther Band’s picnic on Tuesday, May 16, in Widmeyer Park.

The 2023 Herbert A. Young Music Scholarship was the most successful it’s been since its inception more than a decade ago with this year’s winner, Jennifer Barnhart, receiving $1,250.
