Carl Wesley Creek
1922-2023
Carl Wesley Creek, 101, Little Orleans, Md., a devoted family man and a war veteran, passed away at the VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va., on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
Born on February 25th, 1922 in Little Orleans, Maryland, he was the son of the late Raymond Creek and Julia Boden Creek.
In earlier years, he attended Price Wesleyan Church with his wife, Etta Iona Fletcher Creek.
He retired from GM Fisher Body in West Mifflin, Pa. as a millwright after having served for thirty years in the company. His commitment to his job earned him the respect of his colleagues and those in management positions.
He also served his country as part of the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII from 1943 to 1945. He was stationed in England during the war and was proud to have served his country.
He is survived by his three children: Harold W. Creek and his wife, Rachel, of Elizabeth, Pa.; Charlotte A. Kalina and her husband, Charles, of Little Orleans, Md.; and Julia Jupin and her husband, Richard, of Fayetteville, Pa.; as well as six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Beside his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by three sons; three brothers and three sisters.
A visitation will be held on May 26, 2023 at Grove Funeral Home located at 141 West Main Street in Hancock, Md. from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. followed by a funeral service at noon. A burial ceremony will follow at Price Wesleyan Church located at 11555 Price Rd. NE in Little Orleans, Md. Military honors will be presented by Tri-State Honor Guard. Pastor Mark Faith will officiate.
Carl was known for being devoted to his family first and foremost. He had an incredible work ethic that he passed down to his children. Carl will always be remembered by friends and family alike for being a dependable individual with an unwavering integrity that many aspire towards.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Carl’s name to Tri-State Honor Guard, 527 N. Washington Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411 or Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main St., Hancock, Md.
