Nancy L. Harden

1942-2023

Nancy L. Harden (Olin), 80 years old passed away on April 15, 2023 at War Memorial Hospital on her 62nd wedding anniversary.

Born April 16, 1942 in Ashtabula County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Betty Branch Olin.

Nancy earned her associates degree from Kent State University, her Bachelor’s degree from Malone College in business.

She was the first female computer programmer for NCR in the country. She retired 22 years ago from Foseco INC. in Conneaut, Ohio, where she was plant controller.

Nancy did a lot of volunteer work whenever she could.

She was a member and past Senior Regent of Women of the Moose Chapter #86 in Conneaut Ohio, a member of the Red Hat Society of Ashtabula County, Ohio, Order of the Eastern Star Orion Chapter #12 of Kingsville, Ohio, the Conneaut Elks Lodge #256 and Conneaut Valley Lions Club both in Conneaut, Ohio.

Nancy enjoyed reading, gambling, especially Bingo, shopping, and traveling to all 50 states. Most importantly she loved spending time with family and friends.

She had many homes but her favorite was the cabin in Orleans Crossroads; she loved when it was filled with family and friends.

She married her soulmate Gladstone (Gabby) Harden. Together they had 3 children Cyndi (David Gaither) Harden of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., John (Sheri) Harden and Chris (Mike) Harden. She had 7 grandchildren, Kimberly (Chris) Harris of Ashtabula, Ohio, Eric Stewart, Stacia Harden, Stephin (Kayla) Harden, Teila (Cole) Baldwin, Tianna Young all of Ashtabula, Ohio, Kristofer Harden of Morgantown, W.Va. She had 5 great grandchildren Tristain Harris of Morgantown, W.Va., Braylon Harris, Blaise Iorio of Girard Pa., Beckett Baldwin of Ashtabula, Ohio and Izaiah Frasure of Jupiter, Fla. and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons, John Harden and Chris Harden and two sisters, Pat (Jay) Hunter and Judith (Don) Breedlove.

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 4581 Orleans Road, Great Cacapon, W.Va. Pastor Dick Voorhaar will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. A second Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at Conneaut Moose Lodge #472, 280 Park Ave., Conneaut, Ohio.
