Etta Jean Davis

1935-2023

Etta Jean Davis, age 87, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Friday, April 7, 2023 at Winchester Medical Center.

Born October 14, 1935 in Gallagher, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George William and Estella Caroline Rogers Morris.

She was a member of Berkeley Baptist Church.

Jean was a 1955 class graduate of Nicholas County High School in Summersville, W.Va.

She worked as a hostess, waitress and cook with the Holiday Inn in Glen Burnie, Md.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, mushroom hunting and loved to bowl.

Jean is survived by her children, Dimple R. Thomas of Berkeley Springs and Randy William Davis of Largent, W.Va., one brother, Pastor James Daniel Morris of Huntington, Pa., five grandchildren, Bonnie Jean Brake and her husband, Craig of Summersville, W.Va., Shawna Myer and her husband, Ryan of Gassaway, W.Va., Anthony Thomas, Samantha Davis and Sarah Davis, all of Berkeley Springs, five great-grandchildren, Lindsay Pettry and her husband, Dalton, Levi Brake and his wife, Eve, Lyric Dahlia Loving, Jayde Harmony Rink and Kahler Blaze Murphy and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Davis on March 18, 2003. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., where the family received friends from 11 a.m. until service time. Pastor James Morris officiated. Burial was in Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Great Cacapon, W.Va.
