Joe Perry
1944-2023
Joe Perry, age 78, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va. died on Friday, March 31, 2023 at his sister’s home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born November 17, 1944 in Winchester, Va., he was the son of the late Vernon and Hattie Virginia Pittsnogle Perry.
He was a Christian.
Joe attended schools in Morgan County.
He retired after 30 years of service with U.S. Silica as a bagger and tow motor operator.
Joe enjoyed sitting with his friends and socializing at Roy’s and Southern Belle Truck Stop & Restaurant. He enjoyed cutting wood, tinkering around, and loved being with his son sitting around the woodstove in his garage.
Joe is survived by his son, Joe Vernon Perry of Berkeley Springs, one granddaughter, Kaylee Irene Virginia Perry of Martinsburg, W.Va., three sisters, June Redick and Nancy Beddow, both of Berkeley Springs, Phyllis Morton of Tennessee and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Barney.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Services and burial will be private.
