1947-2023

A celebration of life will be held April 1, 2023 for the recent passing of Geoffrey (Geoff) Thomas Reed.

Geoff was born June 15, 1947 in Gary, Indiana, the son of the late Hugh Patrick and late Helen Hussong Reed.

In his early years, Geoffrey worked as a counselor in youth group homes and as a welder in Washington, D.C. He was a structural inspector with Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority for more than 25 years until his retirement.

He was a member of the ManKind Project Men’s Group and a facilitator for their New Warriors training programs. Geoff mentored many teenage boys in the Boys to Men groups of Maryland and Virginia. He was a past member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1483 in Berkeley Springs.

Geoffrey liked time outdoors enjoying life. He loved spending time with family and friends telling stories of the past and present. He was a tinkerer and woodworker. He loved people and had an inquisitive mind that was constantly learning. His family was constantly amazed with the breadth of knowledge he displayed on a daily basis. Geoff was also a spiritual seeker and was a valued member of his church.

Geoffrey is survived by his children, Adrian Reed Michaud and her husband Dean of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Rapp Judson Clark and his wife Suzette of Myrtle Beach, S.C., his sister, Susan O. Reed of Winchester, Va., and his partner, Nancy Sponeybarger of Dauphin, Pa. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Geoffrey Michaud, Johnie Durboraw, Chelsey Clark, Lindsey Clark and Daycotah Durboraw.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Korb Reed and his brother, Patrick A. Reed.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at The Country Inn of Berkeley Springs, 110 S Washington St., Berkeley Springs, WV 25411, followed by a Celebration of Life service that will be held at 2 p.m. with the family officiating.

Burial will be private.
