Pirates edge out Panthers in non-conference rematch

The Hancock Panthers boys’ varsity basketball team narrowly lost to the Paw Paw Pirates 72-67 in a non-conference rematch at home on January 17.

The Pirates (8-4) edged out the Panthers (2-12), despite 16 points each scored for the Panthers by junior Jordyn King and sophomore Aiden McCarty.

Junior Isaiah Demory scored 13 points, and junior Mason Conrad scored 12 points in the game.

The Hancock Panthers then tipped off at home on January 19 against the Northern Huskies of Garrett County. The Panthers scored 15 points in the first quarter, and Junior Jordyn King scored 23 points in the game. But it wasn’t enough to conquer the Huskies in the non-conference game. Northern comes out on top 66-40.

Hancock (2-12) traveled to Mount Storm, W.Va. on Monday, January 23 to play Union High School’s 1-9 Tigers in a non-region game.
