Panthers pounce over Hornets 67-25

The Hancock High School varsity boys’ basketball team overwhelmed the Hyndman Charter School Hornets in a league battle last Tuesday, January 3 in Pennsylvania.

With a final score of 67-25, the Panthers dominated the game from the jump, scoring 26 points in the first quarter.

The Hornets fought back in the second quarter, putting 15 points on the scoreboard, before being shut out by the Panthers in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore Aiden McCarty scored 22 points for the Panthers in the conference match-up.

Junior Jordyn King scored 13 points. Sophomore Blair Ray scored 8 points in the game.

Their win over Hyndman put the Panthers at 2-6 for the season before they traveled to Grace Academy in Hagerstown for a non-league outing on Friday, January 6.

Grace Academy won that match-up over Hancock 64-27. Aiden McCarty scored 13 points and Junior Isaiah Demory scored 8 points for the Panthers in the non-conference game.

The Panthers (2-7) faced off next against Forbes Road (2-5) in Waterfall, Pa. on Monday, January 9 for a non-league contest.
