Abel December 3, 2024 Students at Good Shepherd Preschool were packing boxes on Tuesday morning, November 15, as part of the Operation Christmas Child program from Samaritan’s Purse International Relief. (Left to right) Kathy McCarthy helped Paisley Mellott, Paislee Bowers, Zaydi Powell, Jake Francis, Marlo Morris, Ellie Duckwall, Priya Gonzales, Julia Waugh, Ella Hill, and Lincoln Shives pack the boxes full of towels, a water bottle, personal hygiene items, toys, and school supplies to be sent to children around the world. Director Jan Weber said each child who was present filled a box with a total of around 40 boxes completed with a few left to fill. The boxes filled Tuesday should add another 30. Weber added some families did two boxes while some made monetary donations to cover the purchase of the items and shipping of the boxes. This year, Operation Christmas Child will hit their 200 millionth box.
