Darlene Louise Truax
1938-2022
Darlene Louise Truax, 84, Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Blue Ridge Hospice in Winchester, Va.
Born August 11, 1938, in Fulton County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Robert T. and Gladys (Hill) Carson and the widow of Claude Truax, Sr., who she married on June 16, 1958.
She was a graduate of Southern Fulton High School.
She was employed as a custodian at Southern Fulton School District.
She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Christian Church and Amaranth Church of the Brethren.
She was an avid reader and writer and enjoyed NASCAR racing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Steiner, and husband, Jimmy, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a son, Claude Truax, Jr., McConnellsburg, Pa.; six grandchildren, James, Kelly, Matt, Stephie, Austin and Morgan; three great-grandchildren, Derek, Morgan and Ava; three brothers, Robert, George and Bill Carson; one sister, Jean Stickley and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, who passed away March 26, 1997, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Angie Truax.
The family received friends Friday, November 11, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main St., Hancock, Md. Funeral service was held on Saturday, November 12, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, 3013 Pleasant Grove Road, Warfordsburg, Pa. Rev. Denver Plessinger officiated. Burial followed at Amaranth Church of the Brethren, 2709 McKee’s Gap Road, Warfordsburg, Pa.
