Jean Marion Apple
1926-2022
Jean Marion Apple, 96, of Warfordsburg, Pa., passed away on October 12, 2022, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, Pa.
Born January 5, 1926, in Warfordsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John F. and Georgia (Mellott) Lewis and the widow of Curtis A. Apple, who passed away June 7, 1996.
She was a life member of the Cedar Grove Christian Church, Warfordsburg, Pa., where she served as Deaconess Emeritus; a member of the Warfordsburg Lioness Club; and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Berkeley Chapter 77.
She was a former employee of Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pa., and Sanger Inc., McConnellsburg, Pa.
She loved to bake and be surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela J. Hartman, and husband, Wilbur, Warfordsburg, Pa. and Flip Henry, and husband, Brian, Berkeley Springs, W.Va..; five grandchildren, Carol Barges and husband Steve, Chambersburg, Pa., Leslie Schooley and husband Terry, McConnellsburg, Pa., Abraham Fost of Colorado, Aaron Henry and wife Hilary, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. and Rebekah Guseman and husband Greg, Morgantown, W.Va.; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Curtis A. Apple II; a sister, Velma Bishop and two brothers, Kenneth Lewis and Fred Lewis.
The family received friends Monday, October 17, 2022, 10-11 a.m., at the Cedar Grove Christian Church, 5806 Flickerville Rd., Warfordsburg, Pa. 17267. Funeral service followed at 11 a.m. Rev. Dick Bernhard officiated. Burial was in the adjoining church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jean’s name to the Cedar Grove Christian Cemetery Association, in care of Pamela J. Hartman, 3081 Great Cove Road, Warfordsburg, PA 17267.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main St, Hancock, MD.
