Nancy Proctor-Marquiss

1938-2022

Nancy Proctor-Marquiss, 84, of Falling Waters, W.Va., (formerly of Williamsport, Md.) passed away peacefully on September 13, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 15, 1938, in Jodie, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Mary (Skaggs) Boles of Ansted, W.Va.

In Nancy’s early years, she was a loving wife and stay-at-home mom to her five children. Later on, she enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. Nancy had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. She was a friend to many with her smile and positive attitude. She enjoyed so much watching the birds and squirrels feed as she was sitting in her living room or on the porch.

Nancy was a Christian, having attended the Church of God, Hagerstown, Md.

She was a member of TOPS #77 for many years and also a member of the Red Hat Society.

Nancy is survived by her four children; Dan Proctor (Pam) of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., Teresa Forsyth of Falling Waters, W.Va., Lisa Cline (Wayne) of Hagerstown, Md., and Jim Proctor (Lisa) of Falling Waters, W.Va.; grandchildren Derek, Stephanie, Christle, Mark and Lauren; great grandchildren Trevor, Kaiden, Kowen, Kaiman, Miranda, Cort, Landon, Hunter and Kaleb; sister Louise “Weezie” Boles of Williamsport, Md.; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 28 years, James E. Proctor, Sr., in 1976; her second husband of 18 years Paul B. Marquiss in 2008; son Michael Proctor in 2020; brother Bill Boles; sister Jean Eagle; baby sister Brenda Boles; grandson Bradley Proctor.

There will be no viewing or visitation. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Douglas Shenberger officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Nancy Proctor-Marquiss may be made to the Johns Hopkins Cystic Fibrosis Center, 200 North Wolfe St., Baltimore, MD 21287 or Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
