Mona Fern Kidwell
Mona Fern Kidwell, age 66, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., died on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at her home while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born July 27, 1956 in McConnellsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Mary Ruth Pittman Mellott.
She was a member of Word of Deliverance in Berkeley Springs, where she and her husband founded and operated God’s Storehouse for 38 years.
Mona was a high school graduate.
She was a SGT with the United States Army.
Mona was a cook for Morgan County Schools.
She loved camping, going on motorcycle rides and spending time with her family.
Mona is survived by her husband, Robert Neil Kidwell, at home, her daughters, Crystal Runion and her husband Dave of Berkeley Springs and Sonya Shoemaker and her husband Donald of Clear Spring, Md., her siblings, Naomi Stepanik and Glenn Mellott both of Needmore, Pa., grandmother of five grandchildren, Caitlin, Chloe, Emily, Grace and Jeremiah and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Celebration of Life Service was conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Word of Deliverance, 103 Honeycrest Drive, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. Pastor Lisa Unger officiated.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, September 5, 2022 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
