Larry Allan Shoemaker
1956-2022
Larry Allan Shoemaker, 66, Needmore, Pa., passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, at UPMC, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Born April 13, 1956, in McConnellsburg, Pa., he was the son of Martha E. Bishop Shoemaker and the late Lawrence Shoemaker, Jr. and the husband of Bonnie Krause Shoemaker.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law and uncle.
He was a 1974 graduate of Southern Fulton High School.
He was a member of Damascus Christian Church, Big Cove Tannery, Pennsylvania.
He attended various trade schools for his employment as a Body Shop Tech at Douglas Motors Body Shop in Hancock, Maryland.
He raced at Mason Dixon Drag Strip, winning many trophies. He enjoyed participating in Classic Car Shows, hunting, fishing, hunting mushrooms and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association.
In addition to his wife of 25 years, and his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Marcia Lohr, and husband, Rick, of Shellsburg, Pa.; three grandchildren, Cody, Kyle and Mya Lohr; a sister, Lisa Starliper, and husband, Joey, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and a nephew, Lance Hovermale.
The family will receive friends Thursday, September 1, 2022, 2 p.m.-6 p.m., at Needmore Bible Church, 6939 Great Cove Rd., Needmore Pa. Funeral service will be held Friday, September 2, 2022, at 11 a.m., at the church.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (10-11 a.m.). Rev. Russell Hoffman will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Damascus Christian Church Cemetery, 717 Big Cove Tannery Rd., Big Cove Tannery, PA.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main St, Hancock, MD.
