Kenneth Walter Mitchell

1932-2022

Kenneth Walter Mitchell, age 89, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Stonerise Berkeley Springs.

Born August 19, 1932 in Barnack, England, he was the son of Walter and Alice Gertrude Syer Mitchell.

He attended Trinity-Asbury United Methodist Church.

Kenneth graduated from Patterson High School in Baltimore, Md. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany. Kenneth was a member of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60, Risinger-Stotler Post #4019 and Deford Lodge #88 A.F & A.M., all in Berkeley Springs.

Ken worked until his retirement as a supervisor with Bethlehem Steel Company. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and reading about World War II.

Kenneth is survived by his loving friend, Gina Griego, his siblings, Beryl Valerie Mitchell Lowensen Williams and her husband Danny of Berkeley Springs, Eileen Florence Waldhauser Locklear and her husband Larry of Dagsboro, Del., Charles Bernard Waldhauser and his wife Gaile of Holiday, Fla., many relatives in England and many nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be private at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery in Flintstone, Md. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kenneth’s name may be made to the Tri-State Honor Guard, 527 N. Washington Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
