Phyllis Harden Bell

1934-2022

Phyllis Harden Bell, age 87, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., died on Monday, June 20, 2022 at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Care Facility.

Born October 30, 1934 in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ida Lutman Harden.

She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church.

Phyllis was a 1952 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

She worked at Victor Products, Morgan County Board of Education and at Citizens National Bank until her retirement in 1996.

Phyllis was a member of the Junior Woman’s Club and the PTA.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Ann Harden Bell and her fiancé, Scott Swaim, of Berkeley Springs, Keith Eugene Bell and his wife, Ruth, of Umatilla, Fla., and two step grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years on December 6, 2017, Dale Eugene Bell, and one sister Vivian Shelton.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, June 24, at First United Methodist Church, 49 S. Green Street, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., with Pastor Joshua Rider officiating. Burial was in Greenway Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Phyllis’s memory may be made to First United Methodist Church, 49 S. Green Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411, or to Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV 25430.

Arrangements were handled by Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
