Cindy Shantay McKinley
“There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone, the light remains.” Cindy Shantay McKinley, wife, mother, sister, Grandmommy, mawmaw and friend went home to be with our Heavenly Father, on May 20, 2022, at the age of 55. She was born on June 20, 1966, in Dundalk, Md. to Steven and Sandra Lipinski.
She was survived by her husband of 34 years, Thomas McKinley. She raised two children, daughter Ashley Shantay Malcolm, and husband, Kyle Malcolm, of Martinsburg, W.Va., and son Brandon Thomas Richard McKinley, and wife, Angel McKinley, of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; her mother, Sandra Lipinski, of Hancock, Md.; one sister, Tammy Eader; two brothers, Steven Lipinski and Troy Lipinski; multiple nieces and nephews; and her pride and joy, her beloved grandchildren, Ella Jean Malcolm, Mia Grace McKinley, Gabriel Joseph Malcom, Laela-Mae Tula Malcolm and Kolt Steven Thomas McKinley.
She loved gardening and being outside watching the hummingbirds and butterflies. She enjoyed getting lost on long back roads with her husband. She found fulfillment in watching her children and grandchildren grow up. The sound of little feet and a giggle were music to her ears. Her never giving up attitude and her advice will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be planned at the convenience of the family at a later date. In lieu of flower arrangements, the family is creating a flower garden in her honor for her grandchildren. Any donations can be sent to the family.
‘We will meet you dancing in the field of flowers’ as you say, you just beat us there.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main St, Hancock, Md. Online condolences can be expressed to the family at www.grovefh.com.
